Imagine having a stress-free social media process that means your posts are sorted for the month. Not only that, but they are also all serving a purpose - to grow your business.

This hack is for you if you’ve ever tried to plan and create all your social media content a month in advance, but failed.

I know it might look like hard work to try a new approach but hear me out. My way of doing this has helped me to streamline the process of creating visually-appealing, lead-generating content every month.

If you don’t agree, just take a moment to consider how much time and energy you are wasting by doing it your way.

I have a better method for you to approach your social media planning and creation.

Instead of starting from scratch with every post and posting as you go, follow this process:

  • Plan out your month - what do you want to promote/sell? What events do you have that month?

  • Create content pillars of 3-5 topics or themes that relate to your target audience.

  • Brainstorm 5 content ideas for each of those pillars. You can use Google search to get suggestions around what people are asking. These questions can spark ideas.

  • Look back at your content from last year - both long form (blogs/email newsletters) and short form (Instagram posts) - and write down 5 concepts you could repurpose in a different way.

  • Now you have a bunch of ideas that you can post throughout the month. Don’t forget to link back to your overall business goals/what you want to promote.

Set a timer and commit to finishing this task in a specific timeframe - i’ll leave that to you to decide. I find setting a time limit really focuses the mind, gets the job done and prevents procrastination.

I also recommend using a social media scheduler to plan your month out and schedule to post so you don’t have to do it every day.

Doing it my way helps you:

  • Stick to your goals

  • Give every post a purpose

  • Cut down procrastination

  • Have a clear plan for the month

  • Get time back

It feels way more satisfying and has the added benefit of making sure your content is focused on what will generate leads because you are starting with your monthly goals.

Will you do your social media planning this way from now on? It’ll save you time and energy.
